born between 1815-1825, married Eugenia King, of Danielsville, Rhode Island, who was described as a "red-headed school teacher." They had seven children but only three were mentioned in article in Macon County Life by David Fowler - Ezekial, Beura, Leonard.The Book
"Broken Fortunes-SC soldiers, sailors & Citizens who died in the service of their country and state in the War for Southern Independence 1861-1865" by Randolph W. Kirkland, Jr. has the following names people with the last names of JONES:Most likely units where he would enlist were the 64th Infantry Regiment, Co. B, formed mostly from Bibb County, GA. in 1863 or the 1st Infantry Regiment Co. C formed in Houston County, Ga., in 1861. There are numerous other Daniel Jones and even one Daniel E. Jones of Campbell County (age six years on the 1850 Campbell County Census), but they are not likely this subject. --Steve Scroggins

Records suggest that Savannah Rogers died 11-Apr-1911 and that Henley Grady Jones was born of 2nd wife Nettie Poole 25-Mar-1911. Either there's a transcription error, or Henley was conceived out of wedlock.--Steve Scroggins

Oscar Eugene Jones 72, of 500 Stanley Street, Perry, died Monday, March 29, 1999. Funeral
services were held Wednesday at 3 pm in the Little Bethel Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery

Funeral services for John Monroe Jones, 79, who died Friday in a Macon County Nursing
Home, were held at 2 pm Sunday in the Little Bethel Baptist Church with burial in the
church cemetery. The Rev. J. B. Lumpkin officiated.
Mr. Jones a native of Macon, lived in Warner Robins a number of years and was retired from
Robins AFB.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ruby Barfield Jones, a brother, S. O. Jones of Ideal; two
sisters, Mrs. John Weeks of Ideal and Mrs. Roy Windham of Oglethorpe; a number of nieces
and nephews.
Watson-Mathews Funeral Home of Montezuma was in charge of arrangements.

April 12, 1951- FINAL RITES FOR HENLEY GRADY JONES, 40, HELD WEDNESDAYFinal rites for Henley Grady Jones, 40 of Thomaston, were held at 10:00 am Wednesday at the Little Bethel Church near Ideal. The Rev. W. J. Childers officiated, assisted by the Rev. Luther Lancaster, and burial was in the Church Cemetery. Mr. Jones' death occurred Monday night. Born on March 25, 1911 in Macon County, the son of the late John and Nettie Poole Jones, the deceased had made his home in Thomaston for the past 15 years.
Survivors include his wife, the former Oleta Barfield; a son, Julian Jones of Thomaston; a daughter, Marion Jones of Thomaston; two sisters, Mrs. Roy Windham of Marshallville and Mrs. John Weeks of Ideal; and two brothers, Seaborn Oscar Jones of Ideal and John Monroe Jones of Warner Robins.

Bobby C. Smith ]Mrs. Oleta B. Jones, 80, of 217A East Lee St. died Saturday, Sept. 19, 1992 at Upson Regional Medical Center. Graveside services were held Sunday, Sept. 20 at 3:30 p.m. at Upson Memorial Gardens with Elder C.E. Darity officiating. Pasley Fletcher Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Jones was a native of Taylor County and had made her home in Thomaston for the past 52 years. She attended Emmaus Primitive Baptist Church and was a retired employee of Martha Mills. She is survived by a son; Mr. Grady Julian Jones of Powder Springs, Ga.; a sister, Mrs. Clinton Self of Thomaston; a son in law, Mr. L.J. Scroggins of Warner Robins; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

FUNERAL SERVICES FOR NEVA NELLE JONES WINDHAM
Mrs. Neva Nelle Jones Windham of 208 Patricia Drive, Montezuma, Georgia, died Thursday,
June 10, 1993, in Emory University Hospital, Atlanta, Georgia.
Services were held at 11 am Saturday, June 12, in the First Baptist Church, Montezuma,
with burial in Oglethorpe Memorial Gardens. Dr. Randy Gregg officiated. Pallbearers were
Jack Hardage, Frank Kelley, Buddy Clark, Tommy Ham, Randy Starling and Carl Peaster.
Mrs. Windham, a lifelong resident of Macon County, was the daughter of the Rev. John Jones
and Nellie Poole Jones. She was a retired nurse, the founder of the Oaks Nursing Home in
Marshallville, and a member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors are her husband, Roy Sanders Windham of Montezuma, a daughter, Dianne Walker of
Marshallville, a son, William Jule Windham of Montezuma, three grandchildren, Damon
Walker, Ashton Windham and Spencer Windham, a daughter-in-law, Bonnie Windham of
Montezuma, a son-in-law Robert C. Walker of Marshallville, and a number of nieces and
nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the First Baptist
Church or to a favorite charity.
Watson-Mathews Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Marion Jones Scroggins - WARNER ROBINS --- Marion Jones Scroggins, 56, of 306 Briardale Ave. died Tuesday at her residence. Born in Taylor County, she lived in Warner Robins for the past 37 years. She was a member of Oakland Baptist Church and the Society of American Poetry. She was a homemaker and was the daughter of the late Henley Grady Jones. Survivors: husband, Lon Scroggins, Jr. of Warner Robins; children, John Scroggins of Bonaire and Steve Scroggins of Gray; mother, Oleta Jones of Thomaston; brother, Julian Jones of Powder Springs; and two grandchildren. Services: 11a.m. Thursday in McCullough Funeral Home. Burial: Parkway Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Steve Scoggins will officiate. McCullough Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
