There are two ways you can advertise your search for a Birkholz ancestor here. One way is, you can fill in a form below. I will post it to this message board as soon as possible.
The other way is, you can post a message on the Birkholz LISTSERV. You can send your message to our LISTSERV at BIRKHOLZ-L@rootsweb.com. Your message will be posted in the language you send it in. If you send a message in both English and German, it will be posted in both languages. If you need help translating a message, try using an online German - English dictionary.

MICHAEL BIRKHOLZ--Michael was born in 1824 and died in 1898. He was married to Eva Rosina Susanna Hinz who was born in 1826 and died in 1904. They were the parents of my gr.gr.grandfather Gustav Birkholz who was born in 1853 and died in 1904. Michael had 7 other children: Emilie,Carl, August, Eva, Mathide, Bertha, and Wilhelmina. The family settled in Wisconsin. Does the name Johann Kaschke and his spouse Dorothee Tretor ring a bell? They are Birkholz ancestors in some respect. The first Birkholz relatives of mine left W. Prussia Germany and arrived in the U.S. in 1864.( N. Y., I believe) Gustav was married to Mary Louisa Dorothee Goetting (born in Cato,Wi. in 1861,died in 1939). Gustav died of kidney disease in 1904 and Mary remarried a man by the name of John Borths. My grandfather was John Birkholz son of Gustav and Mary. My father was Norman Birkholz son of John and Mary (nee Saeger) Birkholz. Mary Louisa Goetting's (Birkholz and later Borth) family came to the U.S. from the port of Bemen Germany in 1857.(N.Y.)Are there any relatives out there? Send info to Sandyblo@concentric.net

AUGUST BIRKHOLZ--We are looking for more information about the birthplace and family of August Birkholz. He was born in 1864 in Gros Arlin, Wotschachow, Russia, to Gotlieb BIRKHOLZ and Kathleen BLOCH. August married Pauline(?) GOTER. When she died, he married her sister Augusta GOTER. August immigrated to America in 1908. We think Gros Arlin, Wotschachow might be located in present day Poland, but we can't find it. If you have information on where Gros Arlin, Wotschacow, Russia is now located, please contact us. ALSO: When August moved to America one of his children stayed in the old country. We think it may have been DANIEL BIRKHOLZ. Anyone who has information on the child who stayed please contact us. Thanks. E-mail: al_birkholz@geocities.com; Postal Mail: Alvin Birkholz, P.O.
