An exercise in using all the available resources to trace my family tree back through Robert the Bruce, King of Scotland, and to his Nordic ancestors, to William the Conquerer, Charlemagne, and earlier.
Although it is traditional to give the earliest ancestor the number 1 and number forward in time, that can be a bit confusing if your line splits. Therefore, I am assigning number 1 to me and numbering backward in time. Where an ancestor married more than once I have indicated by an asterisk the ancestral spouse. I have put the maiden name of female spouses in parenthesis as necessary.
Most of the material here is taken from others' work and has not been independently verified. Take it all with a chunk of salt. This is just for fun! It proves the adage - if you trace back far enough, you are related to everybody else.
