Mrs. Margaret Hollowell Brothers
Elizabeth City, N.C., Oct. 27 (1948)
Mrs. Margaret Hollowell Brothers, 85, wife of the late S. M. Brothers, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ivey Wilson, Elizabeth City Route No. 4, this morning after a lingering illness. She was a native and lifelong resident of Pasquotank County, the daughter of the late William Henry and Mary John Modlin and a member of the Newbegun Methodist Church at Weeksville.
Mrs. Brothers is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Ivey Wilson, Mrs. G. W. Pendelton, of St. Brides, VA; Mrs. C. H. Meads, of Shawboro; Mrs. G. W. Stevenson, of Washington, D.C.; and Mrs. F. M. Newby, of Elizabeth City; three sons, S. M. Brothers, of Great Bridge, VA; S. C. Brothers, of Virginia Beach, Va., and W. B. Brothers, of Elizabeth City, 30 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be conducted Friday afternoon at 3 o’clock in the chapel of the Twiford Funeral Home by the Rev. Allen P. Brantley, pastor of the First Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Hollywood Cemetery.
