Jacob Bear deceased}

Be it remembered that I, Jacob Bear of Earl Township, Lancaster County in the province of Pennsylvania yeoman being sick and weak in body but of sound and retaining mind and memory. I thank God, O knowing the time of my departure from the body is at hand. I therefore make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following viz. I will and allow that all my just debts and funeral charges be fully paid and satisfied out of my personal estate undivided, I will and allow to my wife, Sarah, the sum of sixty pounds lawful money of said province in discharge of my contract with her at marriage payable as hereinafter mentioned.

I also will and allow unto my said wife the two pieces of linen in her chesters now, the hog now in the stable and twelve bushels of good wheat, and residence in my dwelling house the next ensuing winter if she pleases and afterward have all in the little house xxxx xxxx meadow, during her live and widowhood according to articles already xxxx to that effect. I give and bequeath to my son, Michael Bear, the sum of five shillings only in money aforesaid, he having got his share before xxxx said estimate my real estate to the amount of three hundred pounds money aforesaid and at such valuation. I give and devise all and singular my real estate to my son, Abraham Bear his heirs and assigns forever, under and liable to the payment of said sixty pounds unto my said wife aforesaid, in four yearly gales after my decease and suspect to the payment of so such of the remaining two hundred and forty pounds, to each of my daughters xxxx Barbara the wife of Michael Nicely and Mary the wife of Joseph Hershberger: that is that each of them may have as much including what they have severally and respectively already got from me as may make them all three equal. Abraham xxxx his share thereof in his own hands according to such valuation xx as aforesaid and subject also to the payment of said five shilling, and I will and allow to my said daughters to each such proportion as aforesaid and to be paid to them severally and respectively in right yearly gales after my decease, and I will and allow to my said son Abraham and to my said daughters Barbara and Mary, all the residence of my personal estate amongst them share and share alike, Lastly I nominate ordain and appoint my said son Michael Bear and my good neighbor Michael Grebill to my executors of this my last will and testament, hereby revoking and disannulling all former or, other will or wills by my me hitherto had or made and confirming this and this alone to be my last will and testament.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty-seventh day of October anno domini one thousand and seven hundred and sixty-nine.
