TORONTO - A female law student articling at one of the country's most prestigious law firms says she is the victim of a hacker who apparently used her e-mail account to send nude photographs of herself to Mike Harris, the former Ontario premier who is the firm's senior business advisor.

The series of nine colour photos were included in the e-mail that was also secretly sent yesterday to fellow students-at-law from various schools, creating a buzz within the legal community.

"It's a fraudulent e-mail that has been sent out and I didn't send it," said Jill Nelson, a student at Goodmans LLP, who has appeared nude in Playboy.

"It is a student who is harassing me on the Internet," she said.

An assistant for Mr. Harris at Goodmans' Toronto office found the message in Mr. Harris's office e-mail account after the Post called for comment.

"I can confirm we did receive an e-mail matching the description you gave but I have not opened any of the attachments," she said, declining to give her name. "Mr. Harris has not seen it. He does not know this person."

The message was also forwarded to an unknown number of recent law school graduates. Articling students from the University of Toronto's law school, where Ms. Nelson graduated last year, and Osgoode Hall received copies.

Neither the students' names nor addresses were visible in the e-mail, a method of forwarding messages called "blind carbon copying."

Ms. Nelson appears in a 2002 "Girls of Canada" issue of Playboy. In an interview with the National Post's Sharon Dunn, she said: "I wish I could decide who gets to see the pictures and who doesn't."

Different photos of Ms. Nelson appear in the law firm's promotional material for attracting articling students to the firm.
