The students will: draw a box, draw a mug, draw a baseball, draw a background, shade all objects, draw in shadows
Tie-in's: Dutch still life (such as by Willem Kalf)
(Show a print of a Dutch still life, or other still life.) What period of art does this still life come from? Who did the work? What does it show about life during that time?
How well is the work put together? Are the objects shaded smoothly from light to dark? Does the shadowing show a consistent light source? Do the objects appear to have form?
Do you like this work? Would you display it in your home, or in an office? Why or why not?
